Frequently Asked Questions
Optimum Thrush Away
Optimum Thrush Away takes effect immediately upon contact. It is odourless for the horse and the spray nozzle makes it easy to apply.
Optimum Thrush Away is five times more effective than other products available on the market. Better yet, there is almost no loss during the application, as it takes effect in just a few seconds.
When you detect a symptom of thrush, start the treatment as follows: Apply Optimum Thrush Away once or twice per day for a week or until the infected and moist areas disappear. Make sure that the area dries up and hardens during the treatment. Continue to apply Optimum Thrush Away daily for three to four days after the complete elimination of bacteria. Do not use Optimum Thrush Away for prevention, use it for treatment when signs of thrush or white line disease start to show
During the application of Optimum Thrush Away, use protection gloves and only vaporize the infected part of the hoof. The most frequently affected areas are the interior of the collateral grooves, around the white lines and the frog’s median groove. In the latter case, if the groove is deep, use a small wooden stick to open the cavity. Please be careful, because if this zone is infected, it can be very sensitive for the horse. Let the liquid take effect for ten seconds and put the foot down. Optimum Thrush Away’s can eliminate bacteria upon contact with the liquid. Do not apply Optimum Thrush Away under the horse’s skin and do not use it for a soaking bowl, as this may cause lesions on glomes and the coronary band’s tissues.
While shoeing a horse, there is always a humid space created between the horseshoe and the hoof. Optimum Thrush Away should be applied after trimming and cleaning the hoof and just before the farrier shoes the horse. If the horse has a tendency to developing thrush during the shoeing process and if there are conditions that favour fungi growth (humid, dirty box and pasture, leftover hay, manure and urine), it is preferable to give the foot a deep cleanse along the horseshoe and to vaporize Optimum Thrush Away two to three times per week while letting it penetrate under the horseshoe for about 30 seconds.
When horseshoeing requires the use of a pad, it is necessary to treat it by abundantly vaporizing all the parts under the hoof before laying the pad and removing it six to eight weeks later.
Optimum Thrush Away can be used with aluminum, steel and composite horseshoes. It does not affect the efficiency of epoxy and urethane-based adhesives.
The product works perfectly for this issue. Upon contact, it treats all traces of fungi in a few seconds. The recommended application helps eliminating white line disease.
Not only does Optimum Thrush Away not stain, but it is also odourless. There are no constraints on the horse’s foot during application.
No, but when you complete your purchase, you can always ask for a bottle or a smaller sized applicator to transfer or share Optimum Thrush Away with your friends.
General
Thrush is detected with the presence of a strong and nauseating odour while cleaning the hoof. The appearance of a dark area with a soggy texture is coupled with a humid and white powder. This is not to be confused with sole exfoliation which is a chalky and dry white powder.
